Slow Cooking Thursday

My kids love tamales, but making them is a pain. When I found this recipe I was THRILLED! It tastes the same without all the hassle. ENJOY!

Tamale Casserole

1 pound ground beef
1 egg
1 1/2 cups milk
3/4 cup cornmeal
1 can corn
1 can diced tomatoes undrained
1 can sliced ripe olives
1 envelope chili seasoning
1 teaspoon seasoned salt (I omit this since chili seasoning is salty)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Cook beef and drain. Combine egg, milk and cornmeal until smooth. Add corn, tomatoes, olives, chili seasoning, and beef. Transfer to slow cooker.

Cover and cook on high for 3 hours and 45 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese cover and cook 15 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.
