Happy Homemaker Monday

As I look outside my window...
The snow has finally stopped!  We have about 12 inches on the ground at the moment.  They say we could get some more tonight.

Right Now I Am...
Praising God!!  For my son's surgery this morning.  He came through it with flying colors.  Now we are all ready to put it all behind us and move forward.  He is even wants to return to school on Wednesday.  He was scheduled to be out all this week.  The doctor has given him the OK to go back Wednesday.

Thinking and pondering...
About the lessons we have learned through this horrible year.  I am trying to organize all the lessons into a series of posts.  Stay tuned for those early next year.  We are convinced God is preparing us for something really big!!

On My bedside table...
Kindle with many books.  One that I am enjoying is Christmas at Pebble Beach written by Vannetta Chapman

On My TV tonight..
I'm not sure I will be able to watch anything.  I did not sleep much at all last night.  We had to be up at 4 am to get ready for surgery.  We left at 5:15 to be at the hospital.  So I am fighting now to keep my eyes open.

Playing on the radio...
Christmas music.  We have this mountain music Christmas CD we listen to all the time.  With the glow of the tree lights and the music relaxes me.

On The Menu this week...
Monday~ Fend for yourself.
Tuesday~ venison Roast
Wednesday~ Chicken
Thursday~ Ham Steaks

On My To Do List...
I'm going to relax for the rest of the day.  Tomorrow is a new day.  I will probably get back to the housework and the everyday tasks.

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating...
I am going to learn how to rug hook!  Not the ones you purchase in the store (with the yarn and hook where you work with small pieces of yarn), the way they did it back in the past.

My simple pleasure...
Quiet.  I love just sitting in the living room with a small lamp on.  Listening to the clock, furnace kicking on or the snoring of our dog.

Lesson learned the past week...
When you go through horrible trying times in your life face them head on.  Try not to fret over the current circumstance.  Oh I know it is SO hard to do.  Each trial we have gone through has brought me to my knees crying out to God.

Looking Around the House...
It looks pretty good.  Dishes are done.  I just have to run the vacuum quickly in the living room and dining room.

From The Camera...
Here is my son this morning after his surgery.  He was still pretty groggy, but managed to crack a smile for his very happy mom!

On my prayer list...
My dad as he prepares for knee surgery
Me as I learn the lessons God has placed before me
Our church ministries

Bible Verse, Devotional...
Philippians 4:13
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

So glad your sons surgery went well. I prayed for him first thing this morning when I woke up and thought of him. God is so good. Blessings!
