101 Ways YOU can get involved in Foster Care

While our family has been going through this journey to become foster parents we have heard so many comments from people.  Some of the comments we have heard are:

I could never do that!
I do not have the time.
I do not have the patience.
I could never love someone else's child. (this broke my heart to hear)
and many more!

Well here is a blog that lists over 101 ways you can get involved.  The one thing I would add to this list is pray for those taking children into their homes through foster care.

When someone has a baby people throw a shower, take a meal or help clean the house.  Why not offer to do this for a new foster family?  Most of the children come into foster care without anything but the clothes on their back.  If you crochet or sew why not make blankets for the kids to have.  This is something my mom is doing for us.  We will be giving each child a blanket of their very own.  Something they can use for comfort.

Our future children are growing in our hearts not my belly!

I love this! There is an organization in OK that is helping with this called the 111 Project. They are encouraging people to be support for foster families. This is something I have never even thought of so I'm glad people are bringing it up.
