Happy Homemaker Monday

The weather in my neck of the woods:
a little cooler.  Humidity is gone!  For now!  We have a nice breeze this morning.

Things that make me happy:
Handmade birthday cards from my children.  They worked all afternoon yesterday on a card for me...but couldn't wait until today to give it to me...LOL!

Book I'm reading:
Bible
Many for review

What I'm enjoying on TV:
Homestead Blessings

On the menu for dinner:
hamburgers and hot dogs
fresh corn on the cob...with fresh herb butter I learned how to make from the West Ladies!

On my To Do List:
I have many ideas now of things I want to make:
candles
soap
dough
bread
herbal tea...the list goes on and on!!

New Recipe I tried or want to try soon:
sourdough starter

In the craft basket:
I'm going to try making the soap the West Ladies talked about on their The Art of Soapmaking DVD.

Looking forward to this week:
a very quiet week!!

Tips and Tricks:
when making sourdough starter put a piece of foil under your jar...so when/if the starter over flows you will not have a huge mess on your counter!

My favorite blog post this week:

Blog Hopping (a new discovered blog you would like to share with the readers):
I've mentioned this blog before but some new readers might not know about it.  Our favorite living history museum...The Genesee Country Village and Museum has a blog now!

No words needed (favorite photo or picture, yours or others you want to share):

Lesson learned the past few days:
This isn't new but I love being a homemaker!!  I had started looking for a job working in the ER of a local hospital.  I didn't really want to but we really could use some extra money.  Each job I applied for the Lord shut the door.  Well I was relying more on myself than the Lord!  There is a possibility that my husband might be up for a manager at work.  He will be making more than I would of if I was working as well.

On my mind:
The Lord's direction for our lives.
My family

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:
Ecclesiastes 3:1
To everything there is a season,

A time for every purpose under heaven:

Hi!
I loved getting homemade cards from my son. He is 41 now and I still have the cards he made me as a child. Have a great day!
