Happy Homemaker Monday

The weather in my neck of the woods:
Spring like...it is raining mostly here today.  We are supposed to be close to 60 the rest of the week!

One of my simple pleasures:
the quiet of the morning.  I'm able to sit and ponder the days activities.  I'm also able to completely focus on my quiet time with God.
On my bed side table:
Books for review, Bible, cell phone
On my TV:
nothing..I love it

On the menu for tonight:
homemade mac and cheese

On my to do list:
work on my home management binder, meeting tonight, school for the kids, midweek kids club, open house for my Tastefully Simple business.
New Recipe I tried last week:
I made homemade brownies without oil...I used applesauce.  My family didn't know the difference!  They turned out great.
In the craft basket:
homemade cards
Looking forward to:
a Bible class I'm taking through our Church!!  It begins Tuesday, it is a study of Romans 6-8

Homemaking tip for this week:
I've said this before but when you are remodeling your house...BE patient when it comes to the dust.  We are starting on the bathroom and kitchen soon.  I'll be getting a walk in pantry!!!  WOOHOO...just need to get past the dust issue.
Favorite Blog post (mine or another):
None that I can think of.

Favorite Photo from last week:.
We went to the Genesee Country Museum this past weekend.  Our daughters were able to learn how to do a 19th century dance.  They said they felt like a character from Jane Austen....OH does a mother's heart good to hear them say that.  Our homeschool group is going to start a dance "club" centered around this type of dance...for the whole family!!  Now I just need to convince my husband he would really like it...LOL!

Lesson learned the past few days:
Many people hold their children up on a pedistal thinking they can do no wrong.  It is really sad thinking about how these children will function in "the real world" being told all their life they are "perfect".  Our daughter fell yesterday at church (she's ok) there were a group of teens standing in the hall...they started laughing at her!!  I was so beyond upset with these girls.  This isn't the first time this group of girls have been mean to my daughter.  I'll be the first to admit my daughter is far from perfect!  But she has never been unkind to people in our church.  When the parents were confronted about this issue they LIED about what happened...including the mother who told her husband she was right there when it happened....WHAT?!  Please remember us in prayer about this issue.  It is coming to a decision that has to be made.
On my prayer list:
The situation above, military families, My sister who is due in 4 weeks!!
Devotionals, Key Verses, Scripture Reading:
Psalm 20:7
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses;

But we will remember the name of the LORD our God.

That pantry sounds awesome!!! How exciting. You're going to have to post some before and after photos.

Happy Monday!

I am so sorry about what happened to your daughter. I will be praying about it. You would think that church would be one of the safest places, but sadly in many cases it is not.

Love the photo and I've always wanted to learn those dances, they are so graceful.

Have a wonderful week Jen.
