Happy Homemaker Monday

The weather in my neck of the woods: Hot, muggy, hot, muggy...did I say Hot! I do not like it when it is hot and muggy. I'm a cool/cold weather gal!

One of my simple pleasures: lighting a candle and reading a book on the couch.

On my bedside table: Love and Respect (a book I'm reading to review for Nelson publishers) my Bible and sewing stuff

On my TV: National Geographic Channel, the kids are watching a show about killer bees.

On the menu for tonight: Ham, mashed potatoes, green beans from the garden

On my To Do List: clean, get projects ready for my home gathering (I'm now selling Close to my Heart scrapbooking and stamping products. I'm mainly teaching people how to make greeting cards)

New Recipe I tried last week: I did not really do much cooking last week, it was so muggy.

In the craft basket: scrapbooking items and cards

Looking forward to: our nephew's wedding this Saturday. It will be nice to see family from my Husband's side. It is even better now that my Husband and his eldest brother have patched things up. Up until about April they had not spoken for about 5 years.

Homemaking Tip for this week: When you have a pet who sheds, invest in a good vacuum cleaner to get all the fur. We recently purchased a Shark vacuum cleaner designed just for pet fur. I LOVE IT!!

Favorite Blog Post of the week (mine or other): My post about Laura Ingalls Wilder Days

Favorite photo from last week: Another view from the village.

Lesson learned the past few days: When life feels out of control God is ALWAYS there to get you back on track. My brother in law filed for divorce of my sister who has the brain injury. That is not the shocking part. He had her served at her apartment where it pretty much blind sided her. It sent her into a downward spiral and she ended up in the hospital again. Jeff plain and simple did not think of anyone but himself!! He lied to everyone including my parents who do so much for him. I try to remember he is unsaved, but I'm having a really hard time with it! My Dad and I have an appointment on Friday with a Christian attorney I use to work with to find out our options and to get an honest opinion. Jeff has told my parents they do not have to do anything just let it go the 20 days and all will be taken care of. Well I do not like the fact that he and his attorney are trying to push this through in less than 20 days. Maybe this is why the Lord had me go through all the schooling to get my paralegal degree.

On my Prayer List: see above, my family, service men and woman

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses: Proverbs 15:1 "A soft answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger."
I have been saying this verse over and over in my mind this weekend. It taking all I have in me not to confront Jeff on my own. Please pray for guidance in this situation.

Oh I hate hot and muggy too!
I love your simple pleasure and dinner sounds delicious.

I'm sorry to hear about your sister. The devil is really out there to steal, kill and detroy but we serve and trust an Awesome God. Keep on looking upward and trusting God. Don't limit Him with fear, doubt and anger.
I will have you and your sister in my prayers.

Oh lovely post even though it was hot and muggy. That cracked me up but I know what you mean. Here it is just hot! I am loving reviewing too. I just finished my last book and am writing the post. I am always anxious to get it posted so I can get a new book.
Thanks for coming by and visiting today.
Many Blessings,
Sherry

Hot and muggy is the worst, isn't it? Hang on -fall is coming.

Great homemaking tip-we just got a new dog and I don't really like my semi-new vacuum so I am looking for a new one- I have the Shark steamer and love that so I think I'll try the vac too. Thanks!

I will keep your sister in my prayers. I am so sorry to hear what she (and the rest of your family) is going through. You sound like a great support.
