Slow Cooking Thursday

This is one of my favorite recipes for meatballs. When I first had it I had no idea there was grape jelly in it. You can even use the little hotdogs also.

To see other slow cooking recipes go on over to Diary of a SAHM.

Sweet and Sour meatballs

1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle chile sauce
2 teaspoons lemon juice
9 ounces grape jelly
1 pound lean ground beef
1 egg, beaten
1 large onion, grated
salt to taste

Whisk together the chili sauce, lemon juice and grape jelly. Pour into slow cooker and simmer over low heat until warm. You can also do this step on the stove.

Combine ground beef, egg, onion and salt. Mix well and form into 1 inch balls. Add to sauce and simmer for 1 1/2 hours. I have used pre made meatballs before.

You just can't go wrong with any kind of meatball in my opinion.
