Simple Woman's Day Book

For Today...

Outside my Window... rain, over cast skies and spring birds!

I am thinking... about spring starting to show its face. "For as the earth brings forth its bud, ...so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all nations." Isaiah 61:11

I am thankful for... a Husband walking with the Lord.

From the Learning Room…Maple Syrup Unit Study! I'm so excited about this unit, as a kid one of my fondest memories was walking in the woods with my Dad tapping maple trees. Then cooking down the sap into syrup. We will be doing this unit for 2 weeks and will wrap it up on the 21st when we go to the museum to see how it was done in the 1800's.

From the kitchen... Beef Stir Fry, Salad and maybe fresh bread (our 14 yo wants to learn how to make it) Also a lot of maple syrup recipes.

I am wearing...sweatpants,tshirt, sweater,socks and slippers.

I am Creating… a homeschool blog...Homeschooling with heart it is in the very early stages. I hope to have more added this week along with entries on our unit study.

I am reading... the Bible through in a year with my Husband. Passionate Housewives:Desperate for God, Homeschooling the Challenging Child.

I am hoping... for these mild temps to continue. Mild for us NYers is mid 30's to 40..LOL. It is supposed to be in the 50's Tues and Wed.

I am hearing... the children talk about the weekend and discussing what Pastor was preaching on! It really warms my heart to hear things like this!

Around the house... Some minor cleaning of the rooms.

One of my favorite things... the smell of spring in the air, can you tell I'm so ready for spring??!

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week... my woman's Bible study tonight, my Husband's "date" night with Andrew tomorrow, Wednesday-mid week service at Church. The rest of the week nothing!

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you... Twins? Andrew came upstairs the other night dressed like father. It was so cute.

The unit study on maple syrup sounds fun--especially the field trip afterwards. They are always fun. It was great having a "peak" into your day. God bless.

Can we come join your unit study?
It would be just like Little House in the Big Woods.
I appreciate your devotion to Christ and your family.
May you not grow weary in well doing.
Blessings!

Dearest Jen,

Thank you for your comment on my blog - and I love your blog! So refreshing to see an entire family dedicated to the Lord! :O)

We had family members who were angry with us when we made our move (not only physically but monetarily too) and still do not talk to us. It is silly really when you think about it...it is our choice or we thought it was! :O)

Your Maple Syrup unit does sound like fun! Isn't there a pancake day coming up soon? I think so but not sure of the actual date. Have fun with your lessons!
