The Woolery on Main Street~A Hometown Shop

I just love this shop!  Now that life has settled down I plan on utilizing it more!  The Woolery on Main Street is a family owned business.  The owners are a couple of very talented ladies.  The store has a home-like feel from the moment you step in the door.

No matter what day you visit you will find someone working on a project.  Here is one of the owners, Libby, working on something.  Her work is just beautiful.  Never before have I set foot into a store and felt completely at home.  If you live in our area you must stop in.

There are completed items you can purchase or you can find knitting supplies to make your own.  I could just sit here for hours!  Speaking of sitting and knitting...every Wednesday you can bring your projects to the shop and work on them.  It is called the "Sit and Knit Night".

The "Sit and Knit Night" is not just for knitting.  You can bring any kind of project to work on.  I know for me having a night set aside to work on something would be perfect.

For the men in your life there is a whole display of handmade fishing lures.  It was nice because my husband stood there looking at these while I chatted with Libby.  Oh I could very well drive to the city and get the supplies I need, but why would I want to?  Everything I need is right here.

Knitting needles in every size you can think of.  I don't know about you, but this picture really makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.  LOL!!  I was blessed to receive an old suit case filled with my grandmother's knitting needles.  I just cherish it!  I am currently re-learning how to knit.  I use to knit with my grandmother in the summer when I would visit.

As you can see from the picture above there are a nice selection of crochet hooks as well.  I want to try the ones on the bottom right in the picture.

The other owner, Debbie (in the red scarf), is the rug hooking extraordinaire.  Her work is stunning!  I cannot wait to learn from her how to make these rugs.

In January I hope to start taking classes in rug hooking.  I have wanted to learn for sometime now but the time just wasn't right.  The shop holds a number of classes each month.  If you want to learn how to knit, crochet or rug hook give them a call.

If we don't pass on valuable skills like knitting, crocheting and rug hooking to the next generation they will become a thing of the past.  Most people are connected to their phones and electronic devices they do not see things right in front of them.  Local places like The Woolery on Main Street are a great way to pass on those skills.

A large selection of wool is waiting for you!  When I felt this wool I was immediately transported back to my grandmothers house.  She had this wool blanket I would use.  When you shop at a local shop you put the money right back into your community.

A lot of the yarn comes from local farms.  So again it is keeping the money right in our community.  The yarn on this shelf was so soft!

You can see from the pictures there are a wide variety of colors available.  So why drive 30 plus minutes when you can go around the corner for what you need.

So if you still need a gift for the crafter in your life stop in here.  Or if you are looking for that one of a kind gift you will find it here.  There are many handmade items available.  From scarves, rugs, shawls, coasters and so much more!

We all have that person in our life that is hard to buy for.  Come on into The Woolery on Main Street to find that perfect gift.

You may even find a very unique gift.  In the picture above is a bracelet made from an old knitting needle. I think you can see why I just LOVE this shop! The hours are Thursday~ 10:00 am - 8:00 pm
Friday~ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm; Saturday~10:00 am - 4:00 pm; Sunday~11:00 am - 4:00 pm
