Happy Homemaker Monday

The weather outside is
70 degrees!! Hard to believe that last week at this time we were experiencing a winter storm.  Buffalo (about 45 minutes West of us) got close to 70 inches of snow!  We had about a foot or more of snow.  As of today our snow is all gone.  My prayers are for those in Buffalo that will be experiencing flooding now.

On the breakfast plate this morning
I just had a banana this morning.  My stomach is a bit off.  I am still not feeling very well.  But better than I did on Friday.

As I look outside my window
It is raining now and is very windy. Time for the cold weather to come back in.

Right now I am
Typing this up while looking out the window.  School kids are headed home from school, leaves are blowing around in the street, and flags are flapping in the breeze.

As I look around the house
There is a little bit of cleaning to do.  Things to throw away.  Magazine and store flyers are taking over my table.  Seems like everyday we get some new store sending us something.  I guess that is the season we are in.

On today’s to do list
I need to take the rest of my canning items down to the basement.  For now canning is over.  I may make some jam and jellies for Christmas gifts.  I also have a few videos saved on my desktop for knitting.  It's all starting to come back to me now.

Currently reading
"An Old Fashioned Thanksgiving" by Louisa May Alcott.  She is one of my favorite authors.  The stories of simplicity are my favorite.

On the TV today
I am watching the Waltons right now.

On the menu this week
Monday~ Left over chili
Tuesday~ Tomato soup and grilled cheese
Wednesday~
Thursday~ Thanksgiving!

What I am creating at the moment
Just learning how to knit.  So there is no major project.

New recipe I tried or want to try this week
I want to try a few more vintage recipes I found in my old cookbooks.  Things like Applesauce Cake, and Eggless Ginger Cake.

Favorite photo from the camera
View outside last week at this time.  What a difference a week makes.

From Scripture
1 Peter 3:8-9
"Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing."

I so want to learn to knit too but haven't tackled it yet. If you do make some jellies you'll have to show how you do that - isn't it a pretty involved process?

I love Louisa May Alcott too, have to look that one up! Have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving holiday!

Thank you for leaving your comment on my blog. I am so happy to find yours now. I can't wait to read more. I am not looking forward to snow like that again this year. I hope you enjoyed your 70 degree respite. Happy Thanksgiving :)
