Happy Homemaker Monday

The Weather...
is very cold.  We have had a very up and down winter.  We have sub-zero temperatures one day then mid-50's another day.

Right now I am...
Typing up this blog post.  There is really nothing more going on at the moment.

Thinking...
about how blessed we are.  We have finally found a church that we love!  I love being a part of a church where you can share your fears, joys and everything in between.  Our pastor has taken my husband under his wing to show him all aspects of the ministry.  He has given him many opportunities to preach.  Something that my husband knows God has called him to do.  Yesterday was such a blessing as I sat there watching my husband preach.  It just warms my heart.  It's really hard to describe.  Anyone who has a husband who is a pastor knows what I'm talking about.  Our church is partnering with a local ministry that helps out people that are down on their luck.  The ministry has remodeled a tour bus.  There are tables, chairs and a kitchen.  A number of pastors just make themselves available to pray and minister to those in need.  Our pastor and my husband will be doing this next week.

On my reading pile...
Bible
Made to Crave
Couple of Amish fiction books for review.

On my tv...
Mystery Diagnosis

Favorite blog post...
I have been finding some new blogs.  They are mostly about homesteading and simple living.  Something we are striving for.  5 Acres & A Dream is a great blog about getting back to your roots.

Something fun to share...
I am going to do our taxes tonight.  WOOHOO fun times.

On the menu for the week...
Monday~Parmesan "Fried" Chicken
Tuesday~Jambalaya with sausage
Wednesday~Stuffed Pepper Soup
Thursday~Ranch Pork Chops
Friday~Beef and Broccoli

On my to do list...
Finish Katrina's room
Get started on the extra bedroom.  This will be used for foster children.

What I am creating...
Cozy bedrooms for our children.  This has been such a task.  We are working through this process.  At times I am ready to just toss everything and start fresh.

Homemaking tip...
Many hands make light work.  That is something my grandmother use to say all the time.  Keeping things picked up is the top of our list.  There is no reason people cannot put their stuff away.

Looking around the house...
There is a sleeping dog, kids chatting.

From the camera...

On my prayer list...
My husband has a doctors appointment tomorrow.
Foster Care
Our church family
My husband's job situation.  They are in the middle of a contract negotiation.  There has been talk of a strike.  If it does happen there will be no pay.  I'm trusting in God's provisions.
Praying about going on for my Masters degree.  It would be a Masters in Human Services Marriage and Family Counseling.  If this happens it will be at least a year.  I took extra classes for my BA so it will not take me long to complete it.

Bible verse, Devotional...
Psalm 56:3
"What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee."

I am joining Diary of a Stay at Home Mom for Happy Homemaker.

Praise the Lord on finding a church your love and enjoy :) I am amazed at how difficult it was for me to find a church while I was a college student. I am thankful for my home church and the dear people in it.

Your menu sounds amazing! Maybe I will come over for the whole week :)

The Bible verse you shared is one of my favorites - thank you for the reminder.

I hope you have a blessed week!

Hugs,
Stephanie

Hope you guys are all doing well, miss chatting with you on Facebook and seeing what you're up to :)

Hope everything goes well with the foster care too.

Hugs,

I'm glad that you and your husband have found a church family where you can fellowship in love. That is certainly a blessing.

Taxes, ugh! I'm glad that my husband does ours. :)

Your menu looks good too. Have a pleasant rest of the week.

Blessings! :)
