Math is one of those things in life I have a love/hate relationship with.  OK...I have a mostly hate relationship with it.  I was never good at it, I never enjoyed it ect ect.  One of the things I really enjoy about being a part of TOS Homeschool Review Crew is that we get to try out many different things.   Things we would never have thought about looking at.  Anyway, A+ TutorSoft, Inc. is one of those!

A+ Interactive Math is a multi-sensory math program for grades 1-6.  The program is available as an online program or as a CD.  Each version comes with:

Lesson Plans
Curriculum Guides
Printable Workbook
Multimedia Lessons
Interactive Questions and Answers
Solution Guide
Exams and answers
Formula references

There is also an online version where you get instant online grading with feedback.

The CD version is also available as a premium edition.  This means that not only do you get everything I mentioned above but you get the ability to track your child's progress, set start dates for the lessons, and hide the solution guides.

The cost of this program is:

CD Standard Edition: $99.99 for each grade
CD Premium Edition: $124.99 for each grade

Online Edition: $19.95 per month; $49.99 Quarterly; $124.99 Yearly

We were sent the 4th grade interactive CD for review purposes.  We were very surprised at how much we enjoyed this program.  Now our children had no joys in completing their math assignments previously.  We went from online programs to worksheets and everything in between!  I had no idea if we were coming and going when it came to our math class.  Sad but this is very true.   I never thought about putting both together!  It was like a huge light came on for our children!

This program was a perfect fit for our family.  We have so many different learning styles here I think we have it all covered.

Andrew was the one who got the most benefit from it.  I would print the worksheet to go along with his lesson and away he went.  It did take some getting use to for him.  He is the one who cannot sit still for a long period of time when it comes to schoolwork.  He would sit in the window plugging away on his lessons.  I loved sitting here watching him get what he had worked on.

If you need something that will engage your child and teach them at the same time, this is for you!  There are not a lot of "flashy" cartoon characters that will divert the attention away from what Andrew needed to learn.

The lessons were SO easy to prepare for me.  I spent a few minutes printing and reviewing the lesson for the following day.  It was such a breath of fresh air for me.  I love that the majority of the work can be done on their own.

The rest of The Crew have been reviewing different grade levels.  Some have even reviewed the online editions.  If you want to check them out visit the Schoolhouse Review Crew Blog for more reviews.
