Our Foster Journey

We completed our second week of foster care training.  We walk away each week with a renewed excitement about foster care.  This not only goes for me but my husband as well.  We pray daily for the children who will come into our lives.  They might only be here for a moment, but will be in our hearts for a lifetime.  We are developing friendships with those in our class as well.

If you have ever thought for one moment about becoming a foster parent I urge you to check into it.  We are prime examples of people who come up with excuses why they can't do something God has called them to do.  We dragged our feet for years.  But like the Bible tells us God has our lives in His hands.  We just need to trust Him.

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
Jeremiah 29:11

Today we got a letter from the county that all of our paperwork has been accepted and approved.  We can now move onto the Homestudy!  We are nervous, excited and anxious for this part of our journey.  This is the part where you get the visions of the county coming into your home to pick it apart.  One thing is for sure...the more we lean on God the better we feel about this journey.

"And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart."
Jeremiah 29:13

Hi, I saw your blog on the facebook group. It looks like we're only a few weeks ahead of you on the foster care journey. We just finished our last class and our homestudy. You have an adorable blog!
