Apologia: I Don't Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; 1 Peter 3:15

Our Pastor had given us this book before we knew about the review.  Coincidence?? No way!  God knew what our family needed even before we do.  We started reading the book while on vacation.  I'm guilty of putting my head in the sand when it comes to Atheists.

The book is a very easy read.  Chapters are not too long.  There are 15 chapters in this book.  Some of the chapter titles are:
Can We Handle the Truth?
Why Should Anyone Believe Anything At All?
In the Beginning There was a Great Surge.

That is just skimming the surface.  One of my favorite quotes from the book is, "Truth is not dependent on our feelings or preferences.  Something is true whether we like it or not."

If you have been looking for a book to walk you through what and why you believe this is for you!!  It will prepare you for giving the reasons for your faith.  This book is an amazing evangelism tool.  God commands us as believers to be ready to answer questions.  That is where I have failed in the past.

We were also sent Apologia's workbook to go along with this book.

Apologia has done it again!!  This workbook is a great addition to the book.  This study will help you understand the important parts covered in the book.  The workbook has study questions and activities to really make you think and reflect on what you believe.  This is not your average everyday workbook.  It is 279 pages of thought provoking material!

Do not expect to fly through this study.  It is suggested to take 2-3 weeks per chapter and the workbook pages.  We have not set a time schedule for our study.  We want everyone in the family to be able to share their faith with everyone and anyone.

Every chapter in the study has helped each of us gain a better understanding and confidence in the area of faith sharing.  Each lesson starts out the same, Before Starting this Chapter.  This section is a basic what to read in the book and the page numbers.  Throughout the study we are following a road map of sorts Road Map of the Twelve Points that Prove Christianity is True.  The next section you come to is Key Topics.  This is where you can see exactly what we will learn in the chapter.  We called this the sneak-peak.  Next we covered Key Terms.  This was a great way to introduce the children to terms they may have heard before but never really knew what they meant.  The next section is Questions that Grab your Mind.  These were pretty thought provoking for us.  It opened up a lot of discussions about various topics.   We are continuing with this as our family Bible study.  Now that we are a few weeks into the study we are going to add in a role play.  My husband is being the unsaved person and the kids must defend their faith to him.  It is teaching all of us what, and why we believe.

As you can see there is SO much to cover in this study.  We are really learning a lot with this study.  I highly recommend you looking into this for your own family.

The Workbook by Apologia costs $33.00
