Simple Woman Daybook

Outside my window... ~
hazy hot and humid...I am really looking forward to the cooler days of autumn.

I am thinking... ~
about all the canning I need to finish

I am thankful for... ~
my husband and children

From the learning rooms...~
brand new books...excited children
curriculum to review for TOS Crew
Unit Studies for review from Download N Go.

I am wearing... ~
jean jumper
tshirt

I am remembering... ~
all the enjoyable summers I spent at my grandparents house when I was younger.  I learned so much from them...most importantly how to live a Christian life.  I would garden with them and watch Grandma make pickles...I now have the pot she used.  My grandfather has since gone to heaven and grandma has been loosing her memory.

I am going... ~
no where today!  I really look forward to days like these.

I am currently reading... ~
Bible-Joshua 3
Many books for review

I am praying... ~
for the salvation of friends and family
husband's job-management job on 2nd shift might be opening up soon.  He applied for it before and they picked another guy who many knew wouldn't last in the position.  We are praying about Matt applying for the job again.  2nd shift would actually work out better for us...especially with him in college.  He would have more hours to devote to the studies.

On my mind... ~
church family
my parents

Noticing that... ~
many people get all up in arms regarding current events...even christians!  Personally I get excited hearing about all that is going on...end times!!  It is a very exciting time to be a follower of Christ.  Everything that is happening is in the Bible.

Pondering these words... ~
Joshua 3:5
And Joshua said to the people, “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you.

From the kitchen... ~
Ham and rice in the pressure cooker

Around the house... ~
so much to do so little time

I am creating...~
a place of refuge for my family.

One of my favorite things ~
our family devotions time.  My husband leading our family in worship to our Lord!

A few plans for the rest of the week…~
cleaning
canning
Laura Ingalls Wilder Days at the Genesee Country Village and Museum...and meeting Dean Butler!

From my picture journal…~
We got a new camera and I am amazed at the clarity of the pictures...it looks like he is crashing into ice!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I enjoyed reading yours. One of these days, I'm going to need to lose my fear of the pressure cooker & learn how to use it properly! I have two older ones & I just use them to boil pasta & potatoes. My mom had one explode on her when I was young, hence the fear. I watched my mil use hers for ten years & still can't work up the courage!

I love having new books, too. Aren’t they wonderful? I used to spend weeks in the summer with my grandparents, too. Now they’re all gone, and I miss them.

“Going nowhere today” – I love those kinds of days. Your picture is incredible! I got a new camera a few weeks ago, but so far I haven’t learned to use it well. Need more practice, I guess.

Have a blessed day. Thanks for sharing your daybook.

Hi Jen,

Fellow DNG reviewer here. Just popped in and didn't even notice where you were from until I saw Genesee Country Museum! My DH is originally from that area and I'm from Corning area! Enjoy the village visit!
