Happy Homemaker Monday

The weather in my neck of the woods:
Cold, with rain possible snow showers.

One of my simple pleasures:
The smell of laundry after hanging on the line.
On my bed side table:
books for review
Bible
On my TV:
Jane Austen type movies, I'm LOVING them.  I am able to watch them on my laptop while I'm relaxing.

On the menu for tonight:
Homemade Sloppy Joes
Homemade hamburger rolls
Salad
Green Beans
On my to do list:
Bible lesson for Tuesday night, our Pastor has started offering some college level courses we can take.  We just started one on the study of Romans 6-8.

Work on end of the year reports for the kids

GULP>>>pick up a drivers manual for our daughter who turns 16 in a few weeks...pray for us.  :-)
New Recipe I tried last week:
Fish nuggets:  we loved them
I used my homemade shake and bake mix to cover the fish then baked it.  The last few minutes I sprinkled the fish with parm. cheese.
I even made my own tartar sauce.
In the craft basket:
scrapbook
cards
Looking forward to:
Tuesday night class
Wednesday night kids club at church
painting the kitchen...I have color cards all over the walls in the kitchen...trying to pick a color.  I know I want a colonial blue but picking the right one is taking some time....LOL!  Hubby thinks they all look the same.
Homemaking tip for this week:
Put things you have not used in a while into a box...put the box up...then in a month or so go through the box and get rid of the items you will not use again.  Out of sight out of mind.  I've used this method to clear away the clutter in our house.
Favorite Blog post (mine or another):

Favorite Photo from last week:.
Andrew went to his first Boy Scouts camp out last weekend....he's the one in the black and red hat holding the HUGE bottle of syrup...LOL!  Did you notice the size...thickness...of the pancakes?  The men/boys did the cooking.

Lesson learned the past few days:
Even those in your Christian family can be mean at times.  But we need to love them just the same.
On my prayer list:
My sister who is due in a few weeks....I am SO excited!!
Military Families
Missionaries
Unsaved family
Upcoming Easter services at church
Devotionals, Key Verses, Scripture Reading:
"those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:31

I love your tip about putting things away in a box. I definitely want to try that! I think my hubby needs to try that too. :)

Hi Jen,
I enjoyed reading your list and thank you for visiting me. Your lesson is a very important one and I am learning it as well: lately I started getting really disappointed with some people at church but I have to remind myself that we are to love everyone and that our trust is in the Lord.
Blessings
