Happy Homemaker Monday

The weather in my neck of the woods: very nice!  It was 45 yesterday and will be about that today with a lot of sun.  Snow is melting at a nice rate.  I'm waiting on our first spring bulbs to appear any day.

One of my simple pleasures: seeing signs of spring.  I love to be outside at this time of the year.  Birds singing, squirrels out and about.

On my bed side table:  Bible, books to review, cell phone

On my TV: Wii fit...kids are doing their gym class.

On the menu for tonight: turkey pot pie.

On my to do list: get Andrew ready for Cub Scouts camping trip.  He is growing up SO fast, I'm not sure I like it...LOL!  My husband asked him if he wanted him to go with him...he looked him in the eye and said "No I'll be fine by myself"....awaaaaa....I started crying...LOL!

New Recipe I tried last week: We are eating healthy around here, so I've adapted many of our recipes.  I had heard about using applesauce in baking in place of oil.  I made a pineapple upside down bunt cake.  It was VERY good.

In the craft basket: I finished the baby album for my sister.  I always forget to take pictures of my work!!  So now I think I'll start on cards so I have them.

Looking forward to: getting my Wii balance board and Wii Fit "game".  I've been doing the Biggest Loser "game" for the Wii this week.  Let me tell you the word "game" should NOT be after these workout titles...LOL!

Homemaking tip for this week: I'm SO tired of dust...anyone have a tip to help me combat this evil presence???

Favorite Blog post (mine or another): not many blogs read this week.  I've been limiting my time on the computer.

Favorite Photo from last week: I made smoothies for the kids Thursday...my son says wait!!  I need to take a picture so you can place it on your blog!! lol!

Lesson learned the past few days: when things go wrong...STOP....trying to solve the problems myself.  The brakes on the car failed on Wednesday on our way to church.  I was not a happy camper!  But when I stopped and prayed I was at peace.

On my prayer list: my sister who is due in 4 weeks!!!  I'm SO excited. Military men and women and their families, my church family, unsaved family and friends.

Devotionals, Key Verses, Scripture Reading: Romans 6:1-4 " What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?  Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."

Oh boy I can relate to the kids growing up so fast, you want to just tie them down and keep them little forever LOL
