Weigh In Wednesday

After the frightening experience I had Sunday I decided it was high time I made some changes. I've used my back as an excuse for way too long. I am much better now, with the exception of my "episode" on Sunday. We have almost an acre of land here. I can get out and walk frequently.

Every Wednesday I'll post my journey of weight loss. I'm not as concerned about the numbers as I am about how I feel. But today was the first time I've been on a scale since December and shockingly I'm down 20 pounds. I know that after surgery I was thinking more about what I ate because I wasn't able to be out of bed for a while.

Lately, the biggest challenge for me with food is at night after the kids go to bed. I find myself eating just to eat. I laugh because I really enjoy watching the Biggest Loser, but what am I doing??? EATING!! We need to start keeping healthy choices in the house. No wonder I have health issues. But I'm praying that this will be the beginning for me.

So check back here every week for an update on my journey. I will talk about how my week went with: food, water (a big one for me), exercise, challenges, successes, plans for the next week, and weigh in.

So see other people working toward a healthier life visit Happy to be at Home.

How funny you say that about the Biggest Looser. Hubby & I watch it all the time too. He laughs because he loves to have his "biggest looser" snack as well. And no, it's not always a healthy thing either. *grin*

Way to go Jen...I am happy for you!

I have been trying to get back into my routine of exercising and loose the last 40 pounds of baby weight left from Karis and James But everything keeps back firing...Like this flu/ pink eye/ear infection thing...No exercising until I am completely well...Mostly b/c I can't bend over cuz my eyes feel like they are going to burst out of my head!..I am also so happy to hear it wasn't your heart. I was going to call you Monday But I came down with the flu...It was awful and SOOO fast. We will be praying for you!

Jen,
Good for you. I too am trying to lose weight. It is not an easy thing to do and I don't think unless a person has gone through it they understand. I am an emotional eater. I so far have lost 17 pounds but got sick and injured and exercise has been put on hold. This really frustrates me.
Keep up the great work on your journey to a healthier you. I will be praying for you. Hugs, Bobbi Jo
