Simple Woman Daybook

For Today...March 2, 2009

Outside my Window... is a thin coating of snow we received last night. It is bitterly cold out there, our cat did not even want to be out there.

I am thinking... about church yesterday. It is so great to be a part of a wonderful church. I love to see our children sitting in the pews listening.

I am thankful for... my parents who do so much for all of us.

From the Learning Room…we are starting our maple syrup unit study today, hopefully, I'm not really feeling well today.

From the kitchen... a mess from the weekend. Nothing that a few hands will not fix. Tonight we are having chicken fried chicken (I always wondered why it is called that?? Not just fried chicken) Mashed potatoes, biscuits, green beans/carrots (I have not decided yet)

I am wearing...sweats, sweater, slippers, and my new short hair style. I have not had my hair short in almost 3 years, I love my new style.

I am Creating… scrapbooks. I am so behind on them I have decided to start with our family album and update it. We got a new photo printer so I'll be printing some today.

I am reading... through the Bible in a year with my Husband, we are in the book of Numbers. I really enjoy this time with him. We are also doing the "Love Dare" together which has been a great journey so far. I just started the book Passionate Housewives, Desperate for God, by Jennie Chancey and Stacy McDonald. I am really enjoying this book. It is a very easy read but filled with information.

I am hoping... for a great learning week. We have had a few weeks of great success.

I am hearing... the children talk over their breakfast. I love to listen to their conversations, some of the things they talk about really crack me up.

Around the house... is new living room furniture we got on Thursday and we love it. We are all able to sit in the living room again. It has been so long since we were able to do that. We are starting our family time devotionals again. Sadly we got away from them.

One of my favorite things... listening to the spring birds starting to make their appearance, we had a robin singing outside our window this morning. A sure sign that spring is on its way. We also saw a skunk the other day!

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week... ladies Bible study tonight (our topic is anger...tough one), Tuesday is Hannah's night out with Father (he has started once a month taking one child out to dinner just the 2 of them), Wednesday is mid week service, then nothing else the rest of the week! I love quiet weeks.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...another..not so pleasing...sign of spring. Hannah was out side playing in the mud. This is what I saw on the sliding glass door. Lovely isn't it?
To see other daybooks stop by the Simple Woman Daybook blog and check them out. Last week I think there were over 200!

Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment on my blog. I love the little muddy hand print! What a wonderful idea...Your husband taking each child out once a month just the two of them to dinner. I love creating memories such as those.

I had heard of the Passionate Housewives, Desperate for God book and thought about looking into it. Can you tell me a little more about it? I am very curious about it.

New furniture...that is always a fun thing. So glad you all are enjoying it.

I hope you feel better and better as the day goes on.

I, too, loved the handprint. It reminds me of a Mother's Day gift I got when my daughter was 5. They put handprints on paper and wrote a poem. It's one of my most treasured posessions especially now since she's a grown woman of almost 20.

Oh, can I come eat at your house tonight? I'll wash the dishes after.
