Word Filled Wednesday

1 Thessalonians 5:18
"give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

This verse hit me like a ton of bricks the other day. I've read it many times but it hit home to me. Give thanks IN ALL .... wow, all things give thanks. That means we are to thank God for the bad things as well?! It is very easy to thank God for everything that is going well in our lives. Although the bad things do not come directly from God...he may allow them to happen. So remember to thank God for His presence in our lives. But looking back over some of the bad things in my life I can see God's hand at work. They all lead to Him, to bring Him the glory. So the next time something isn't going your way, remember that God is in control. Give it over to him. Easier said than done I know!!
Are you remembering God in ALL circumstances?

What a wonderful reminder. Thanks for leaving a comment over at my blog home. I will be reading over here. So glad to have found you.

As to the WFW I have seen God's hands so many times but it seems that it is only seen clearly looking backwards. I have a Mr. Visionary/Command man and he is a pastor and oh the times I thought we were going through that where the worst was actually when God was doing something great for us.

That "all" portion gets me too. But, it's so right! :)

Oh my goodness! We're having a rainy day here in Mississippi and as I was driving to a doctor's appointment, I prayed God would provide me with a parking place on the lot. Then I prayed that God would get me close to the door. Then I just sat there and said, "Lord, we did need the rain. Thanks for sending it." I didn't get to park as close as I would have liked, but you know what? I didn't mind the rain so much and had a great attitude going in. This means a lot to me today! Happy WFW!

Reminds me of Hebrews 4:12, "For the word of God is living and active." It is such a wonderful feeling when God reveals something new to us in the scripture.

Thanks for sharing. God has been convicting me with this one lately. Giving thanks in all circumstances can be difficult. But it is so important!

Happy WFW!
