Good Morning!

I have some extra time today so I thought I'd check in with everyone.  We have been busy canning up the produce that has been given to us.  We were heartbroken when we discovered our garden had been eaten by wildlife.  When we lived in the country we never had an issue with deer or any wildlife eating our garden.  We didn't even have a fence around our garden.  Then we move into the village and its like the wildlife is saying, "wooohooo free dinner".

God is SO good at providing for all of our needs!  The main reason for having a garden is to offset the cost of groceries.  So what I can or freeze does just that.  Each week we find ourselves humbled by God's provision in our lives.  I mentioned before that our dog groomer shared her left over tomatoes.  I was able to can 24 quarts of sauce.  That will be such a blessing come winter.

Then there was the peach juice my mom gave us that we made into jelly.

My good friend Jen asked if I would be interested in some hot peppers.  SURE! So I made pickled peppers.  We love these on nachos and pizza.  A man that works for my husband has chickens.  He has been blessing us with eggs.  He mentioned a while ago he loves hot and spicy foods.  So we shared a couple of jars with him.  I am going to make hot pepper jelly soon.

The blessings do not stop here!!  My friend Jen contacted me again and asked if I would be interested in a box of concord grapes!  WOULD I!  We have been going through a difficult season of life the past 2 years.  I have been brought to tears with God's graciousness!

So last night I got to work on these.  I was able to can 12 pints of grape juice concentrate.  That didn't even put a dent in this box.  I'm going to make more juice.  I'm going to try my hand at the grape pie filling as well.  It takes a lot of work but I've been told it is SO worth it.

I will post about that once I make the filling.  I am just in awe of how God uses the people in our lives daily.  I was busy with the grapes when my mom asked if we would be interested in some corn she got from an Amish family.  Again I said WOULD I??!!

I cooked it all up and decided to freeze it since the canner was busy with the grapes.  We have missed the fresh corn.  I praise the Lord for His goodness and mercy over our lives.  Every time we open a jar of something I will say a prayer for the person (family) who gave us the produce.  I will most defiantly be paying it forward.

It is wonderful to see how God is blessing your lives. It is inspiring all the canning that you are doing and I enjoyed the pictures of it!

I'm so thrilled to see how you've been blessed with such wonderful produce. If there is one deserving family, it is definitely yours.

Enjoy it all my friend.
Hugs,
Sandra
