Happy Homemaker

I want to start off by saying a HUGE thank you to everyone who sent emails and messages during this trying time with our daughter.  When going through trials like this you feel all alone.  Your messages were of great comfort to us.  Just know that you are all in my prayers.  Our daughter is now home, but its still a daily struggle.

Thank you Diary of a Stay at Home Mom for hosting this each week.

Weather...is stormy today.  We have thunder and showers as I type this up.  I love the smell in the air right before a storm.

Right Now I Am...Watching the storm come in.

Thinking...about the upcoming week.  Andrew will enter public school for the first time.  He is ready and we are at peace with our decision to send him.  He is playing football this year.  He has been placed at Quarter Back.  Not bad for his first year.  {Proud Mom Moment}

On My Reading Pile...Bible, and The Shelter of God's Promises by Shela Walsh

On My TV...Wind at My Back hubby is home today so we decided it is going to be a marathon of this show.  We love it.

On The Menu...
Monday~ Spaghetti and Sausage with Cheesy Garlic Bread
Tuesday~ Chicken and Mashed Potatoes with mixed veggies
Wednesday~ Pork Chops with stuffing and green beans
Thursday~ Cheeseburger Pizza with Salad
Friday~ Undecided...grocery day

On My To Do List... Make sure all school supplies are ready for Wednesday.  Hannah also starts back to homeschool.

In The Craft Basket...nothing at the moment.  But I got my sewing machine out and cleaned up.  Hannah wants to learn how to sew.  So that is something we are going to work on.

Looking Forward to This Week...getting into the school routine.  It's going to be a big change around here with Andrew headed to public school.

Looking Around The House...I need to finish the wallpaper in the upstairs hallway, have hubby put the trim up around the windows.  Organize our bedroom.  It's become a collect all and is driving me nuts.

From The Camera... Our dog Charlie

Praying For... our church, family, friends who are going through a lot of stuff.

Bible Verse...
When I am faced with a trial the hardest thing for me to do is "be still and listen".  I want a solution to the problem now!  So one thing God has taught me is to just be still.  Let me tell you it is SO hard to do with things spiraling all around me.  But when I do sit still and listen to God I feel like I am in the eye of the storm.  There is such peace there.
"Be still, and know I am God;
 I will be exalted among the nations;
I will be exalted in the earth!"
Psalm 46:10

I agree that it is so hard to just be still and listen. I really have a hard time with that, too. But, I try to keep reminding myself that God is working even when I cannot see or feel that He is.
