Open-Faced BBQ Burgers

We are having a lot of fun trying new recipes.  We have emerged from the same old thing groove we had got into.  We are eating new things every week.  Today we had a recipe I found in the Gooseberry Patch 101 Hearty Recipes.

Open-Faced BBQ Burgers

1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup Colby Jack Cheese, shredded
6 hamburger patties
6 slices garlic Texas Toast
8 oz. can tomato sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon steak sauce

Sprinkle hamburger patties with onion and garlic powder.  Grill until done.  While the burgers are cooking make the sauce.

In a saucepan add the tomato sauce, brown sugar, Worchestershire sauce and steak sauce.  Heat until warm through and well combined.

Bake the Texas Toast according to the package directions.  You could also just slice Italian bread, slather with butter and sprinkle garlic on top.

Once the burgers are cooked through cover with sauce and place on the toast.  Top with a little cheese.

ENJOY!  These are so good!!  I also had sauce left over for another time.

Go on over to Make Ahead Meals for Busy Mom's for more delicious recipes!
