In this house history is a favorite!! If you have been reading my blog for any length of time you know we do a lot around here with history. This week we were able to go back in time to learn about one of our nation's Founding Fathers.....Ben Franklin.
Did you know that Ben was not a math scholar?! My children were THRILLED to learn this. Did you also know that Ben came from a family with 17 children? These are little tidbits of information never taught about this man. How about this...Ben was left handed. Our oldest daughter said, "HEY I'm left handed and I hate math...maybe I'll be a famous inventor someday!"
This past fall we were able to see a printing press, much like the one Ben Franklin worked on.
We even thought he looked a little like a young Ben!
A Ben Franklin fact that is near and dear to my heart is that he started the first Fire Department in 1736!
