Cooking Thursday

I first made this cake last year with my kids while doing a math lesson.  I found the recipe on the back of a ticket from the Genesee Country Museum...our favorite place to go as many of my readers know!!

They recently posted the recipe again and my kids and I made it again.  We have decided it will now be our recipe to make to celebrate the end of our school year!!  It is by far the easiest to make...I am going to try it next time with applesauce instead of all the butter.  ENJOY!!  I used a 13 x 9 pan...but you could probably use round cake pans as well.  You will never want to buy a mix again!!

1234 CAKE

1 Cup Butter
2 Cups Sugar
3 Cups Flour
4 Eggs

Mix together and pour into a pan and bake for an hour at 350 degrees. You can add any flavoring you wish to this and while it's nice served with fruit it is perfectly acceptable on it's own.

How exciting that you made it again!! It is easy!!! We make it at the museum in a bundt type pan (but not the kind with the ridges) I personally like to add some rose water to it for a real old fashioned taste!
