Simple Woman Daybook

FOR TODAY... November 17, 2008

Outside my window...snow flurries, grey skies, some sun peeking through the clouds.

I am thinking...about our great day yesterday. We met with the deacons and Pastor regarding Church membership. I'm thrilled to say that we were accepted into membership. It was a great day. We had to stand before the congregation and tell our testimony's. I'm not a public speaker but we got through it. My parents also became members as well of the same Church. It is so great to be able to share this area of our lives with Mom and Dad.

I am thankful for...Pastor's new series on Inductive Method of Bible Study. We did the first lesson and I can already see a difference in my personal devotionals. It is such a blessing to really see what God is telling me through His Word.

From the learning rooms...today we did cranberries, and Squanto. Part of our Thanksgiving unit study.

From the kitchen...left over chili from this weekend. Hot dog chili casserole for supper. Perhaps something nice for dessert!

I am wearing...sweatpants and sweatshirt, warm socks and slippers. It is pretty cold today.

I am creating...homemade Christmas cards. I'm almost done with them. I am so excited to have them done. I wanted to do them last year but never got around to it.

I am going...to my woman's Bible study.

I am reading...the Bible, 2 Peter

I am hoping...to have everything in order before my surgery next month.

I am hearing...the children messing around...grrrr!!!!

Around the house...items to seal up the house for the winter.

One of my favorite things...being in Church. Spending time with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

A few plans for the rest of the week...blessing our home, baking, mid-week prayer service, more of our Thanksgiving unit study, then making some of the foods and crafts we learned about this week.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

Congratulations on your church membership. I am glad to hear I am not the only one who isn't so thrilled about public speaking (especially about your testimony!). I enjoyed your blog. Have a great day!

Oh every one is getting snow except for me. I wish it would snow here just a little. Boy does that cookie look good.

A pastor doing a series on inductive study? Wow! Wish I could find a pastor like that!

This is my first time making the swiffer covers. I googled "crochet swiffer covers" and sorted through the results. They look really easy to make, I just don't have a lot of time to crochet these days.
