Slow Cooker Thursday

This is a great fall/winter recipe! This time of year I start getting excited for the holidays. Especially the Yuletide tour we go on every year at the living history museum near us. It is a guided candlelight tour of Christmas past. There are about 9 houses they decorate and have a scene that is acted out. This drink is one that they serve at the end of the tour. Great for entertaining and makes your house smell wonderful!

Wassail Hot Beverage

6 cups cider or apple juice
2 cinnamon sticks
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 cup honey
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
1 (64 ounce) can unsweetened pineapple juice

Combine all ingredients into crock pot.
You may use any heat selection on your crock pot and can simmer all day.

A picture of one of the houses all decorated.

This looks yummy! I've seen many of these types of beverage recipes, but not one with pineapple juice. I bet that adds an extra zinger to the mix. I'm going to add this to my holiday recipe list.
