Word Filled Wednesday

2 Peter 3:18

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

At the very beginning of our new life in Christ we are like little babies. We need food and nourishment to grow, the Bible is that source for us. We need it daily for good growth in God. The more we read our old mind set (before Salvation) starts to fade away. But the minute we stop feeding on the Word of God those old ways creep back in. Do not just read the Word of God but meditate on it. I have to take one verse like 2 Peter 3:18 and read it and reread it over and over again before I can really absorb it. Write it down, place it somewhere you can read it all the time. For me I place it in the kitchen on the refrigerator as a reminder of my verse for the day. Sometimes it even takes me a week to commit it to memory. I then place then in a card file box and when I need some reminders I get them out. Or I "quiz" myself on the verse. We need these daily reminders to turn away from those bad habits and replace them with habits that are honoring to God. What changes have you made to be more like Jesus?
To see other WFW posts go on over to the 160 Acre Woods and check them out.
This will be my last post for a while. Tomorrow (9/25) I will be going into the hospital for a procedure on my back which will require me to rest for 3 or more days after. This procedure I pray will give us some answers and where to go from here regarding my back. We do know that I have a broken vertebrae in my lower back. The myelogram will determine the amount of nerve damage done and if surgery will be required. Have a great weekend!

Thank you for taking the time to post this beautiful truth before you go to surgery.

I am going to write down your name in my prayer journal and be praying for you. I have walked in your shoes. I have had a myelogram and a cervical fusion in my C5-6. You will most definitely have a prayer partner.

I pray God's peace upon you from the moment you enter the hospital doors. I pray you are greeted with warm smiles and caring hands. I pray the doctor's hands are guided by the Great Physician Himself. I pray for wisdom and strength in any decisions you have to make. And I pray it all in Jesus Name. Amen.

God bless you!!

Praying for you, Jen. May God grant you a safe procedure on your back and restore you speedily. Thanks for sharing this precious reminder to read and meditate on God's Words. It is encouraging to read of how you read and meditate on God's Words, and even write them down and put them at places you can see them, and also apply them in your life. I need this precious reminder to meditate upon God's Words and not just read it, and to use various ways to remember God's Words and apply them in my life. Take care and God bless you always!
