Simple Woman's Day Book

For Today...

Outside my Window... a break from the humidity, a gentle cool breeze with birds singing.

I am thinking... God is so good! Just when you feel he can't not possibly bless you anymore he does! Not only in the good times, but in the bad as well.

From the learning room...since we do our schooling in the dinning room, our learning room is covered in world maps, crafts that the children have made. This year we are using My Father's World curriculum, we love it so far. There are so many activities for all ages.

I am thankful for... my family, everyone has stepped up and helped around the house with a gracious heart.

From the kitchen... canning items. I am making tomato sauce and canning peaches today.

I am wearing... shorts and tshirt

I am reading... The Bible, and The Gooseberry Patch catalog.

I am hoping... This cool weather continues.

I am hearing... the clock ticking, speeding cars flying past our house.

Around the house... laundry to sort and fold.

One of my favorite things... is fall. While driving to Church yesterday we noticed the trees were starting to change already.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week... Homeschool, the museum next door to us will be having their annual fireworks Saturday, we just sit on our deck and watch them. Sunday at Church we are having our Spaghetti Sunday. Also my 14 yo daughter wants to help me make some peach jam. I'm so excited to have to her want to help me in the kitchen. I treasure these moments with her.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you... my husband made this shelf for me at Christmas, our cat thinks it is his personal perch! Even still!

We see fall too - leaves dropping and turning yellow. How is God blessing you? You left me intrigued! We began school last week but I'm down to 1 1/2 students (7th and preK) while my two olders are attending public high school. I'm glad for the routine to be back.

Our leaves are changing, too. I love the Gooseberry Patch catalog - the drawings and colors are lovely! We homeschool, too, with just one child in school now (Grade 10) after graduating one this past June. I love the photo of your cat on the shelf - my cats would do the same thing! Come see my Daybook.

Hi, thanks for stopping by my blog. I am bidding on the Prairie Primer on ebay right now! We have been watching the Little House tv shows, and we also plan to read the books and do unit studies on them. They are full of timeless lessons and wisdom. It's my favorite show of all time!

Jen, what a lovely post.

I wish we had cooler weather here. We will start cooling off in October. That is when our leaves start to change colors as well.

Enjoy your week!

I loved reading your daybook entry. What a silly cat. I just love anything kitty kat! We have 3 so I know how they can think things are "just for them." *grin*

I am so looking forward to fall, but here in our part of the world it looks like it will be a bit before cooler weather sets in or even tries to come our way.

We're only seeing a few stray yellow leaves -- it will be a few weeks yet before it feels and looks like fall here. I am looking forward to cooler temperatures!

That's funny about the cat's perch! I am guessing you can't put too much there lest he knock it off.

I'm jealous--fall is far, far away here in Florida. We go a little ways norh (GA) in a month or so and I'm hoping to see some signs of fall then.
We also use My Father's World. This will be my third year. We are doing Exploring Countries and Cultures this year. Last year I did First Grade and Adventures and the year before Kindergarten. I absolutely love it and I'm very excited about our school year!

I love how kitties sit in the window and daydream. Dont you wonder what they think about. That is a great writing prompt!

We don't seem to have fall here in Florida. It's HOT, then it's winter. And I miss the changing of the leaves, too. Coming from up north, it was my favorite time of year!!!! Enjoyed your entry in your Daybook today!!!!!
