Happy Homemaker Monday

Weather in my neck of the woods...
16 degrees and snow

Things that make me happy...
seeing the joy on our children's faces on CHRISTmas morning.

Book I'm reading...
God is Good by Randy Alcorn (review)

What's on my TV...
Nothing!!  We have been keeping the TV off lately.  It's great!!

On the menu...
Turkey and rice with mixed veggies (lunch)
leftovers for supper

On my To Do list...
clean the house and take down the CHRISTmas decorations.  I'm so ready to have the house back.

New recipe I tried or want to try soon...
Cheesy Bacon and Egg Casserole
Our neighbors have been blessing us with a ton of eggs.  So I've been making many dishes with eggs.  YUM!!

In the craft basket...
crocheting...nothing better than snuggling on the couch with this.  I'm not really good at it yet.  I need to practice more and more.

I'd like to learn knitting this winter as well.  My grandmother taught me when I was a kid so I just need to pick up the needles and practice.

Looking forward to this week...
New Year's Eve celebration with hubby and kids
Extended CHRISTmas party Saturday
Going nowhere until Saturday!!

Tips and Tricks...
When CHRISTmas comes around don't fill you calendar up too much.  Start saying NO to things.  We did that this year and had an amazing STRESS free CHRISTmas!!

My favorite blog post...
Did not get to many blogs this week.

Blog hopping (a new discovered blog you would like to share)...
Addicted to Homes~~she has a ton of great ways to "spruce" up your home for little or no cost.

No words needed (favorite photo, picture, yours or others you want to share)...

Lesson learned the past few days...
When God give you growing pains, just hold on and know that He is with you each step of the way.

On my mind...
family
finances
homeschool
college for hubby and I

Devotionals, Scripture reading, key verses...
 Hebrews 3:7-11
Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says:
“ Today, if you will hear His voice,
8 Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion,
In the day of trial in the wilderness,
9 Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me,
And saw My works forty years.
10 Therefore I was angry with that generation,
And said, ‘They always go astray in their heart,
And they have not known My ways.’
11 So I swore in My wrath,
‘ They shall not enter My rest.’”

Thanks for the comment on my blog! I love your tip about "growing pains". When I am going through them, I find myself fighting like crazy and I need to learn to just REST IN HIM and let Him take me where I need to go because I know His ways are always better than mine!

My grandmother taught me to knit and crochet when I was a young girl. I would really love to start doing both again! Such a wonderful treasure that was passed on to us!

Love crocheting, you know how I feel about that :)

We also kept it very simple this year and have just been relaxing, it's great!
